On Android devices, you can confirm whether the connected WiFi network is on the 2.4G or 5G band by following these steps:
●Connect to the WiFi network.
●Go to “Settings,” find and select “WiFi.”
●In the list of networks, choose the network you are currently connected to and view its details.
●Note: The settings interface may vary across different brands or models of Android phones.
For iPhone - Install a Wi-Fi Analyzer App
1. Please open the App Store on your phone.
2. Enter "airport" to search.
3. Choose "Airport Utility" and download it.
4. Please find Airport Utility in your phone settings, click to open the app, look down, find Wi-Fi Scanner, and open it.
5. Then open the Airport Utility App and click "Wi-Fi Scan" in the upper right corner, and then Click "Scan"
Channels 1-13 are 2.4g, and those after 13 are 5G.
For Windows Computer - Check the Network Band in Wi-Fi Properties
●Connect to the WiFi network and open the network panel from the taskbar (click on the WiFi icon at the bottom right corner of your computer screen).
●Click on the properties of the connected network.
●In the new window, scroll down to the properties section. The network band will be displayed as either 2.4GHz or 5GHz.
For MacBook - Find Out the Channel Information of Your Wi-Fi
●Connect to the WiFi network.
●Hold the “Option” key on your keyboard and click on the WiFi icon in the top right corner of your screen.
●In the Drop-down menu, you will see detailed information about your network, including the channel it is using.
●The “Channel” information will indicate whether it is a 2.4GHz or 5GHz band.
